Corrency in Prague 1 successfully jumpstarted the local economy

Corrency, in cooperation with the Municipal District of Prague 1, helped jumpstart the local economy.

After the launch of registrations on April 8, more than 150 merchants started accepting Corrent accounts from May 1. The program to support the local economy Corrency ran at number one until June 30.

Anyone over the age of 15 with a permanent residence in Prague 1 could register for the system. After registration, they received CZK 1,000 in the form of Corrent credits, which they then used for half the price of their purchases, and the other half was paid by them.

Mayor Petr Hejma then said about the project: "Businesses experienced difficult times in the times of covid and now there are problems with expensive energy, raw materials, and other inputs. I am glad that with this pilot project we have shown the way to not only help entrepreneurs but also to increase the purchasing power of our citizens."

Due to the successful implementation and satisfaction of both Corrency and the city district, the issue of Corrent credits to citizens will most likely be repeated. This time with the aim of helping with getting into school, and school-related activities.
