Pilot project in the Kyjov town

Corrency, in cooperation with the Kyjov Town Hall, launched a pilot operation of a unique project to revive the local economy.

The Corrency pilot operation has been successfully completed. It started on 26 April and has been extended to last till June 24 2021. Corrency distributed over CZK 800,000 in the form of corrents among more than 1,500 citizens of Kyjov. The citizens were able to spend them at registered merchants based or established in Kyjov. 38 local merchants signed up for the project.

The good news is that together we have supported the economy in Kyjov with almost CZK 2 million. Thank you very much to everyone involved.

In the coming weeks, the data from the pilot data will be evaluated for the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which supported the project.

Stay tuned. We believe that the project will soon start helping in other towns.

START OF THE PILOT PROJECT

The registration for the project stayed open even after the launch. Kyjov residents and merchants were able to take part in the pilot project. The project was in operation for 30 days and was extended by one more month. We distributed CZK 800,000 in the form of corrents to more than 1,500 citizens of Kyjov, who were able to spend them at local merchants based or established in Kyjov. The participation for them was not limited. This activity lured back their customers and they gained our support and help in promoting their business.

WHO WAS ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROJECT?

Residents of the town of Kyjov

Every citizen with permanent residence in the town of Kyjov had the opportunity to participate. Each person received CZK 400 from the Corrency system in the form of corrents in their electronic wallet. They were able to spend the corrents at registered Kyjov merchants during the 30 days of the pilot operation as well as its extended period. More than 1,500 citizens of Kyjov registered for the project.

Local merchants

The pilot project was open to local merchants, retailers, craftsmen and service providers who registered for the program from December 11, 2020. We helped them restart their business, re-attract customers and make their business visible through targeted promotion. The number of merchants was not limited. A permanent residence of the merchant in the town of Kyjov was a requirement for entry as well as subsequent physical verification and signing of the business conditions. 38 merchants registered for the pilot project.

Cultural institutions

Apart from the residents and merchants of Kyjov, the pilot project aimed to support cultural institutions in the town as well. We planned to offer citizens a 50% incentive, for example, for a cinema ticket and other cultural events organised by MKS Kyjov. The Covid situation has weakened the cultural sector and hit cultural event operators really hard. The current epidemiological measures prevented the sector from opening.
